CLC Harrison Winter School
2012-02-10 12:40Local 1267's Treasurer, Debbie Sanderson, and Sergeant at Arms, Tracey Takahashi, recently attended the "Collective Bargaining 1" weeklong workshop at the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) Winter School in Harrison, BC.
Debbie and Tracey were introduced to 'the art of bargaining' and during the workshop, the class participants were split-into two groups (union and employer) and actually had to negotiate a collective agreement. Both Debbie and Tracey believe the workshop was extremely valuable and would like to thank the membership for sending them to school.
Joan McPherson, Vice-President, also attended CLC's Winter School and took the "Facing Management" workshop and President, Donna-Lee Lakes took the "Arbitration: To Go or Not To Go" workshop which is an advanced arbitration course taught by arbitrators and lawyers.
